THE MAKERS

Established in 2020 James William Leather is an Australian Label created by husband and wife team Roy and Maxine Pinder.
We design and handcraft men’s & women’s fine leather goods in our workshop in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia.
Each piece is made by hand using premium full grain leathers, threads and hardware.
We also design custom pieces made to order upon request with complimentary engraving available.

Inspiration to enter into leather craft comes from our time spent sailing the coast of Sicily, Italy. In August 2018 we sailed into the small town of Cefalu`, with its quaint little streets and artisan stores. We got talking with the owner of a little artisan leather shop and she spoke of her husbands passion of leather craft, we couldn’t resist but to buy a lovely handmade bag which just gets better looking over time. It was a reminder of the higher quality and attention to detail of handmade goods in comparison to those that are cheaply manufactured and mass produced.
We endeavour to create beautiful, quality pieces that will last a lifetime.
